We also recommend that you review the following materials from There:
- There's Terms of Service (TOS), TOS clarification (via forum post), and Behavior Guidelines
- There Neighborhood FAQs
- Neighborhood Lot Setup Manual
- Real Estate Placement Policy
- There's Decoration Resource Usage
- Our own Neighborhood Lot FAQs, posted in the Tips and Tricks section of this site.
In order to move into the hood, the following steps must be taken:
STEP 1: Familiarize yourself with the Hood's Policies/Rules!
Be familiar with the hood's policies, which are dated and kept current via this website. A copy may be found on a theredoc near the hood's entry point, although the in-game version may not be as detailed nor as up to date as what's posted on this website. Whether or not you have read the hood's policies, you will still be held liable for any violations that you or your guests incur, so please, take the time to become familiar with it.
Unlike some hood owners who do not tell you the "fine print" until after you've moved in, our hood owner wishes for all residents to know what they're getting into so that they can make an informed decision prior to moving in. This often minimizes any future disagreements or drama from occurring in the hood.
STEP 2: Contact the Hood Owner.Unlike some hood owners who do not tell you the "fine print" until after you've moved in, our hood owner wishes for all residents to know what they're getting into so that they can make an informed decision prior to moving in. This often minimizes any future disagreements or drama from occurring in the hood.
Contact the hood owner, Xara_Zane, via ThereMail, ThereIM, or in-game IM. Let her know that you wish to become a resident, when you're available to move in, and address any questions or issues you may have regarding the hood's policies and such.
STEP 3: Join the Hood's Residential Group.Join the hood's residential group, Neighborhood_703873376, in order to apply for residency. Please ensure that your profile is viewable by the hood owner at this time.
STEP 4: Approval Process; Pick your Spot (if approved to move in).
If approved to become a resident, your application to the residential group will change to reflect that you are now a "member" of the group, and you will be able to see the Members list. The hood owner will send you a friend request at this point, and will then walk through the hood with you to see if your fave spot is available.
If your application was NOT approved, you should receive a notice through the residential group, stating that your application was denied. Please note that because the hood is advertised as a drama-free, the hood owner intends to protect its current residents and will NOT auto-approve every applicant who wishes to move in! Don't be surprised if the current residents have a say as to whether they feel you could be a good addition to the neighborhood or not. ;-) The hood owner reserves the right to disapprove any applicant for any reason and without explanation.

STEP 5: Purchase a Lot.
If you do not yet own one, purchase a Lot from There's Shop Central or There's Auctions and confirm that you have enough tbux to cover the first month's rent. If you're unsure as to what size Lot to get, most renters acquire a 64×64m (1 acre) Lot.
STEP 6: Drop (or Place) the Lot in the Approved Location Within the Hood.Enable the Lot's View Boundaries feature by clicking anywhere in your game screen and pressing CTRL SHIFT N. Press it once to see the green Neighborhood boundary. Press it a second time to see the pink Neighborhood Lot boundaries. (Pressing it a third time will display the yellow PAZ boundaries, if any are within view. Press it a fourth time to hide all previous boundaries.)
Switch to a medium or high aerial view, and position your Lot using the Preview Drop Location feature through your Lot's menu options under My Things. Please note that no other avatar can see the grey Preview box that appears; in other words, the hood owner will not be able to tell you if your Lot's borders are too close to an object or another Lot. (It may be necessary to use the Measuring Tool to ensure your lot is at least 20m from other Lots. Please ask the hood owner for details on how to turn this feature on or off.)
Once you've got your lot positioned, you can try to do a Take Out from the Lot's action tag menu. There.com sometimes takes a minute to reflect the change, so don't move and please be patient! If after a minute, the Lot has not dropped, you may have to try again and/or reposition it before the system accepts the drop.
Once the system accepts your placement of the Lot, a message should pop-up, verifying the rent to be charged, what neighborhood you're dropping it in, and basically letting you know its success. At this point, you will be given the option to click on OK or Cancel.
STEP 7: Decorate your Lot.
You're now free to start decorating your Lot! Welcome to the hood! If necessary, ensure you have the "freeze layout" option selected on your Lot's settings. Don't forget to save your layout when you're done!
STEP 8: Submit Screenshot & Resident Info to Hood Owner. (Optional)
Once you're done decorating your Lot, let the hood owner know so that they can take a screenshot of your Lot (with you in it -- when possible). The hood owner will then edit the screenshot and include it on this site's Residents page. Some residents have chosen to answer the brief sample/questions shown on the residents page, some have not. If you wish to have your answers posted, please send the info and related links to the hood owner as well. You are more than welcome to use the Flickr screenshot in your Lot's details page or in your avatar's Profile for the duration of your stay within the hood.
